Take a Story Walk at UCS

The book starts at the first sign at the rock garden and continues  all the way around the field ending at the garden.  Library-Media Specialist Mr. Baron, developed this project for students, families and staff to enjoy reading and the outside.

Integrated Arts Program for November

Connections All Around, the UCS school wide theme, is the foundation for monthly integrated arts lessons. This week students learned how to write Native American pictographs, make a birdie, and play a pebble game. Mrs. Gallaspie sang a Native American lullaby. Giving Thanks, A Native American Good Morning Message was a book read to students that emphasizes living in harmony and peace with the natural world. School wide students wrote messages of appreciation that hang on a tree branch near the library. Stop by to read the student's messages.  I am grateful to Mrs. Cowan, Mrs. Gomez and Mrs. Gallaspie for developing specialized curriculum for whole school enrichment opportunities.

4th Grade Track Meet

Fourth graders from Underhill Central, Underhill ID, Jericho, Richmond, Huntington and Bolton participated in the first annual MMMUSD-CESU 4th GradeTrack Meet this past week.  The event, held at MMU, was the first time that all of the schools participated and was a complete success.  The power of seeing all our scholars in one spot for the first time celebrating health and fitness was beyond belief.  We'd like to thank all the schools and communities for their support and involvement. Thank you to district PE teachers for your energy and efforts in organizing this great experience for our scholars.  Please watch this video.  Special Thanks to Principal Michael Berry for creating this outstanding documentation of a wonderful event.
